What does a front entry with sidelites cost in Manassas?
More than a single door. For a plain single front door, budget $1,800–$5,500 installed; for a kitchen or basement slider, $2,500–$6,500. Sidelites, a transom and decorative glass push a front door toward the top of that range, and a large full entry can run past it; we quote those in writing. Other styles and options are available, so reach out if you don’t see what you want.
Material, the ProVia line and the opening size decide where yours falls. Our door cost guide for Northern Virginia goes item by item.
A Manassas front entry and two sliding doors
This Manassas homeowner had hired us for other exterior work before and came back for the doors. Out front, the old door came out and a ProVia Heritage fiberglass entry went in: one door with a sidelite on each side and a rectangular transom over all three, in Snow Mist White inside and out. The door and both sidelites carry Esmond decorative glass with patina caming.
Out back, the two old aluminum sliding doors, one off the kitchen and one in the basement, were replaced with Alside Promenade sliders in white with no grids. The basement door got a keyed cylinder lock and a foot lock. Outside, the brickmold around each slider was capped in Glacier White trim coil, so the outside trim never needs paint.

Should a basement sliding door have a keyed lock?
If the basement opens straight to the yard, we recommend it. On this Manassas job the basement slider was ordered with a keyed cylinder lock and a foot lock. A foot lock pins the moving panel at the bottom, and the keyed cylinder lets you lock it from outside. Tell us at the estimate which doors you want keyed and we write it into the work order.
Is it worth replacing old aluminum sliding doors?
Usually, yes, once they stick, rattle or let cold air in around the panels. Aluminum frames carry heat and cold straight through, which is why older aluminum sliders feel cold to the touch in winter. The Alside Promenade doors on this job have vinyl frames, Low-E glass with argon gas and a stainless steel roller track. Alside covers them with a double lifetime transferable warranty and lifetime glass breakage coverage. Promenade and other Alside styles: sliding door options.
Do sidelites with decorative glass still give you privacy?
Some, depending on the glass. ProVia rates each decorative glass for privacy, and the Esmond glass on this Manassas entry sits in the middle of that scale: daylight comes through the door and both sidelites, but shapes on the other side blur. The clear transom above lets in more light. Panel and glass choices are in the ProVia entry door gallery.
Which ProVia fiberglass line makes sense for a Manassas front door?
Heritage, for this homeowner. Signet sits above Heritage in ProVia’s fiberglass range, with more style and finish options. This homeowner looked at the Signet upgrade and chose Heritage in smooth white. If cost matters most, ProVia’s steel door is the budget pick.
Will my Manassas HOA need to approve a new entry?
Often, if the color, glass or door layout changes from what is there now. We supply the product data sheets and manufacturer color names. We work closely with the committees, we have a great relationship with plenty of HOAs, and it has never been a problem for us.
