At Sunshine Contracting, we like to give back to our community! We realize that if it weren’t for the wonderful members of our community, our company and business would not be possible. We want to see our communities grow, be successful, and maintain a great quality of life for its residents. It truly is important to give back and we take that to heart at Sunshine Contracting – we don’t just talk about giving back, we actually do it. We donate, on an average, approximately 4-6 jobs per year to the less fortunate, including Habitat for Humanity and GAF who have partnered together. In this partnership, Sunshine Contracting donates the labor to install the roofing materials, while GAF donates the material. We also sponsor local swim teams and Pee-Wee football teams in Fairfax and Prince William County. The Arthritis Foundation supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions in existence. As the largest not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research, the foundation provides public health education, pursues public policy and legislation, and helps to improve the lives of those living with arthritis. Habitat for Humanity has been working to build and remodel homes for those in need for 34 years and has built more than 400,000 homes sheltering more than 2 million people in more than 5 continents worldwide. Sunshine Contracting Corporation has partnered with roofing manufacturer GAF and Habitat for Humanity to donate labor on roofing projects around the community. As a local partner, Habitat for Humanity alerts us as to when there are projects in the area needing roofing volunteers. We then go out to the job site and donate all our time and labor to help the residents re-roof their home. Sunshine Contracting donates four to six jobs a year to the Habitat for Humanity & GAF. This is just one of the many ways Sunshine Contracting Corporation strives to give back to its community.
The American Heart Association works to promote lives free of cardiovascular and stroke issues in both men and women. Many people don’t know that heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. Through a variety of arenas and with the help of thousands of volunteers across the country, the American Heart Association is one of the leading organizations behind the cardiovascular research front. Toys for Tots was funding by the United States Marine Corps with the purpose of collecting toys for disadvantaged families and distributing them around Christmas time in order to spread a sense of hope to the less fortunate. It is their hope that this gesture will help inspire these children to grow up and become responsible, productive, and patriotic citizens. The Make A Wish Foundation was created in 1980 with a mission of making life-changing impacts on the lives of children who have been diagnosed with life threatening medical conditions. The mission of Foundation Fighting Blindness is to help bring awareness to, as well as to help drive research that will one day find a cure for those affected with the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.
