What should a Sterling homeowner budget for a new slider?

Patio doors here generally come to $2,500 to $6,500 once they are in and trimmed out. A plain two-panel unit is cheapest; every add-on, from grids to a third panel, costs more. An entry door is priced on its own scale, $1,800 to $5,500. Our door pricing guide lists each factor. Other styles and options are available, so reach out if you don’t see what you want.

Third job for one Sterling household: the kitchen slider

This 20165 family first had us replace windows, later a sliding door, and then called again for the slider off the kitchen at the back of the main level. That one was still aluminum. The crew removed it and hauled it away, and installed a ProVia Aspect two-panel slider in white.

Their choices: insulated ComforTech glass left clear with no grids, a white foot lock under the classic white handle, and a BetterVue screen hung from the top track. The opening took a standard ProVia size, so no custom sizing was needed.

Does a standard-size slider fit an older Sterling home?

Often it does. Many sliding door openings were built to common sizes, and the Sterling kitchen above took a standard ProVia unit. We measure the opening at the estimate and order the size it needs.

Clear glass or grids on a kitchen slider?

It is a style call. This Sterling kitchen went with clear glass and no grids. If your windows have colonial grids, ProVia offers grids for its patio doors so the look can match. See the full slider lineup: ProVia Aspect sliding doors.

Will a Sterling HOA ask about a new back door?

Some Sterling communities review exterior changes, so check yours if the color or style is changing. We supply the product data sheets and manufacturer color names. We work closely with the committees, we have a great relationship with plenty of HOAs, and it has never been a problem for us.
