What are the advantages of installing a steel entry door?
Steel entry doors offer a superior level of protection and durability that far surpasses that of wood or fiberglass doors. Steel doors were once primarily found in institutions such as schools and commercial businesses (stores, etc.), but in recent years more and more homes are using them, encouraged not only by the protective elements but also new attractive styles of steel doors that are now available.Despite the name, steel doors are not comprised entirely of steel but have a polystyrene or polyurethane base and a steel coating over that (a solid steel door would be impractically heavy, as you might imagine). The steel coating is usually anywhere from 16 to 24 gauge and the door may also have a wooden frame that is there primarily to hide the core of the door.
