What should a Woodbridge homeowner expect to pay for a door?
A front door generally comes in at $1,800 to $5,500 once it is hung and trimmed; a French pair or slider out back, $2,500 to $6,500. Fiberglass with a stained woodgrain finish, decorative or privacy glass, storm doors and upgraded hardware all push a project higher; a smooth steel door with clear glass keeps it lower. Detail on every cost driver: what new doors cost in Northern Virginia. Other styles and options are available, so reach out if you don’t see what you want.
One Woodbridge house, three new ProVia doors
This 22192 homeowner replaced three doors in one project. The entry is a ProVia Signet fiberglass door with a mahogany grain, stained American Cherry inside and out, with an arched top light of Waterfall privacy glass. Black hardware finishes it: a grip handle on the outside, a Georgian handle and thumbturn deadbolt inside, keyed alike with the French door, black hinges, a security plate and an auto-adjusting threshold.
The French door is a ProVia Vantage pair in smooth fiberglass, Snow Mist White inside and out, with clear ComforTech glass, colonial grids and satin nickel hardware, swinging out, with stainless steel hinges. The third door is a ProVia Deluxe 399 self-storing storm door in white with bronze-tinted glass, a black handle and a pebble-grain kick panel.

Can a fiberglass door look like real wood?
Yes. ProVia’s Signet line has a woodgrain texture made for staining, so it carries the look of a wood door with far less of the warping and refinishing that come with real wood. The Woodbridge entry above is a mahogany grain in American Cherry. More stains and grains: ProVia Signet and other entry doors.
Inswing or outswing for a Woodbridge French door?
It depends on the room and the weather side of the house. An outswing door, like the Woodbridge French door above, keeps the door slabs out of the room and seals against the frame when wind pushes on it. An inswing door is more common and keeps the doors clear of a deck or steps outside. At the estimate we check what is on each side of the opening before suggesting a swing. Patio styles: ProVia patio doors.
How does a self-storing storm door work?
It is a storm door that keeps its glass and screen inside the door, so you slide them into place instead of swapping panels each season. The Woodbridge project above included a ProVia Deluxe 399 in white with a full screen and bronze-tinted glass.
Does a Woodbridge HOA care what color the front door is?
Many Woodbridge communities have architectural review, and a stained front door or a new storm door is the kind of change to run past them. We supply the product data sheets and manufacturer color names. We work closely with the committees, we have a great relationship with plenty of HOAs, and it has never been a problem for us.
Woodbridge door questions
Can several doors be replaced in one project?
Yes. The Woodbridge homeowner on this page had an entry door, a French door and a storm door done in the same project.
Is privacy glass available in an entry door?
Yes. The Woodbridge entry on this page has an arched top light of ProVia Waterfall privacy glass, which lets in light while blurring the view.
Can the storm door handle share the entry door key?
Not always. ProVia notes that the handle on this Woodbridge storm door can only be keyed to other non-mortise storm door handles, not to the entry door.
