A Leesburg family, two French doors, two projects

The first contract for this 20176 family covered the French doors off the kitchen at the back of the house. We swapped them for a ProVia Legacy French door: smooth 20-gauge steel, full-length clear glass, Snow Mist White inside and out, set in ProVia’s FrameSaver frame. They chose black hardware throughout, with a Georgian lockset and thumbturn deadbolt on the active door, black ball-bearing hinges and a bronze auto-adjusting threshold.

Later they came back for a second project: ProVia windows in the kitchen, TV room and primary bedroom, plus a replacement for the French door in the upstairs TV room.

Steel or fiberglass for a French patio door?

Steel, like the ProVia Legacy door on this Leesburg kitchen, gives a crisp smooth painted face and usually costs less. Fiberglass runs higher and is the pick if you want a woodgrain you can stain. What is an auto-adjusting threshold?
