Vienna, VA Patio Door & Entry Door Replacement

Vienna door replacement in brief

How much is a sliding or French door in Vienna?

Most sliding and French patio doors we install in Vienna fall between $2,500 and $6,500, and most single front doors between $1,800 and $5,500. Glass options, grids, a custom size and how much trim around the opening needs rebuilding all move the number. Other door types are priced at the free estimate. Other styles and options are available, so reach out if you don’t see what you want.

The door replacement cost guide covers each factor in more detail.

A Vienna basement: hinged patio door out, ProVia slider in

These Vienna homeowners had bought a sliding door from us before, and they came back for the basement. The old three-panel hinged patio door came out completely: door slabs, screen, threshold, frame, the brickmold outside and the casing inside. In its place went a ProVia Aspect two-panel sliding door, ordered to the size of the opening rather than a stock size.

Around the new door, the crew installed new brickmold and capped it in Glacier White aluminum, then put up new interior casing. The door is white inside and out, with tempered ComforTech glass, colonial grids, a classic white handle set, a white foot lock and a top-hung screen.

Can a hinged patio door be replaced with a sliding door?

Yes. On the Vienna job above, a three-panel hinged door came out and a two-panel slider went into the same opening, with new trim inside and out. A slider needs no room to swing open, so furniture can sit closer to the door. Because the whole unit came out, frame and threshold included, the new door was sized to the opening, not to the old door. ProVia slider styles and glass: patio slider options.

Why order a patio door in a custom size?

So the door fits the opening you have. The Vienna basement door was ordered to the measured opening instead of a stock size. Custom glass can take longer to arrive: tempered glass that is not stocked adds lead time, and we tell you that when you order.

Does a Vienna HOA have to approve a basement door?

If your Vienna neighborhood has an HOA, check whether it reviews door or trim color changes. We supply the product data sheets and manufacturer color names. We work closely with the committees, we have a great relationship with plenty of HOAs, and it has never been a problem for us.
