How much does gutter replacement cost in Sterling?

Most whole-house seamless gutter jobs run $2,000–$6,000 installed. Where your house lands depends mostly on how much roofline it has, whether any runs need 6-inch gutters, and whether you add gutter guards. Other sizes, colors and guard options are available, so reach out if you don’t see what you want.

  • Amount of roofline to cover
  • Standard or oversize: 5-inch with 2×3, or 6-inch with 3×4
  • Gutter guards, if your trees call for them
  • Fascia that needs replacing behind the old gutters

See the gutter replacement cost guide for more on each one. We measure before we price, and the written number is the number you pay.

A Sterling roof and gutters, done together

This Sterling homeowner had us replace the roof and the gutters as one project. The roof is GAF Timberline HDZ in Pewter Gray, backed by GAF’s Silver Pledge warranty, and the new gutters were part of the same project. They have since come back to ask us about new sliding glass doors.

Do Sterling homes need gutter guards?

It depends on which Sterling you live in. The older Sterling Park streets, built in the 1960s and 1970s, sit under decades of mature shade trees, and gutters there fill fast; guards earn their keep. Newer Cascades sections from the 1990s have far fewer big trees, where guards are often optional. The Sterling job above went without them.

If you do want guards, Englert MicroGuard is our pick under heavy shade, and on new gutters with 3×4 downspouts it qualifies for our 10-year clog-free warranty. For a tree or two near the house, our E-Z Lock steel screen is the lower-cost choice. The gutter guards and leaf protection page compares the two side by side.

Should you replace gutters when you replace the roof?

If the gutters are near the end of their life, yes. With the old gutters down and the drip edge being replaced anyway, the fascia is fully exposed, so soft boards get fixed and the new gutters tuck correctly under the new drip edge. It is also one project instead of two. If your gutters still have years left, we will tell you, and they can stay. Our roof replacement in Sterling page covers the roof side.

How big should gutters be for Sterling’s summer storms?

For many Sterling runs, 5-inch seamless with 2×3 downspouts, like the job above; where a large or steep roof section drains into one run, 6-inch with 3×4. A gutter that handles a steady rain can still overflow at a valley during a downpour.

You can see the seamless gutter profiles and 14 standard colors we offer, including half-round and copper; every run is formed on site in one piece and hung on hidden hangers.

Sterling HOAs and new gutters

Across 20164, 20165 and 20166, when your neighborhood has a review committee, clear a color change or street-facing guards with them before work starts. We supply the product data sheets and manufacturer color names for the application. We work closely with the committees, we have a great relationship with plenty of HOAs, and it has never been a problem for us.

Gutter questions from Sterling homeowners

Can you replace my roof and gutters at the same time?

Yes. We do it as one project, which is what the Sterling homeowner on this page chose. The new gutters are part of the same project, and any soft fascia behind them is replaced first.

Do I need gutter guards in Cascades?

Often not, if your lot is mostly open sky. If tall trees overhang your roof, guards are worth it; Englert MicroGuard is our pick for heavy leaf fall.

Is 5-inch gutter big enough for my Sterling house?

For many houses, yes. Where a large or steep roof section drains into one run, we recommend 6-inch gutter with 3×4 downspouts, and we size each run at the estimate.
