New Alternatives in Residential Siding
Vinyl remains one of the most common siding materials for good reason. It’s affordable, easy to clean and tough enough to stand up to years of abuse. Today’s vinyl siding is better than ever, with improved insulation properties and more color and texture options. However, at the same time, many alternatives to vinyl are becoming popular, each with their own set of benefits and drawbacks. Some of the non-vinyl siding materials we offer at Sunshine Contracting include:
- Stone veneer — Stone veneer mimics the appearance of traditional masonry but only consists of a small outer layer of stone. As a result, veneer siding typically weighs less than 16 pounds per square foot and can be installed on any home without requiring major structural modifications. Artificial stone veneer is also available — both create a dramatic, dignified appearance that can set your home apart from others in your neighborhood
- HardiPlank — HardiPlank is the James Hardie Corporation’s proprietary siding product. Made from environmentally friendly materials, it is lightweight and affordable, but comes with an exclusive 50-year manufacturer’s warranty. Multiple color options are available, making it a great choice for nearly any home.
- HardiShingle — HardiShingle is another exclusive offering from the James Hardie Corporation. Capturing the look and feel of authentic cedar planking, but far more durable, HardiShingle is available from Sunshine Contracting in a wide range of colors.
At Sunshine Contracting, we only use siding materials we know and trust. Because we stake our reputation on the quality of our work, we won’t install a product unless we’re certain it will deliver excellent value for our customers. When we meet with you for an in-home consultation, we’ll bring extensive samples of all potential choices and give an honest assessment of the benefits of each.
