Asphalt & Fiberglass Shingles
Asphalt Shingles
Asphalt shingles are one of the most commonly used materials for roof replacement due to their color options, styles, warranties, and relatively low cost. Asphalt provides excellent protection in a wide range of environments. We install Asphalt shingles in layers and are then traditionally trimmed with three tabs with each subsequent row overlapping the previous layer by one third. This provides a small gutter effect on each layer of shingles that helps water and melting snow run off the roof, preventing it from seeping underneath. Each shingle usually has a thin bead of tar on the underside which adheres to the upper layer, further sealing them from leaks. An advantage of asphalt shingles is that most Virginia licensed contractors, like Sunshine Contracting, usually offer a guarantee for 20 years and in some instances, up to 30 years.

Our Roof Process
When you contact Sunshine Contracting to set up your free in-home consultation, our office will work together with you to find a time convenient for you for our Project Consultant to meet with you at your home. At the consultation, we will discuss your roof replacement. During your appointment, our consultant will review our Eagleview GPS Satellite Report of your roof. This report shows aerial photos and takes all the measurements of your home and allows us to provide you with an accurate estimate. When you decide to replace the roof on your home, there are many different options for you to choose from. It can be overwhelming for a homeowner, so we strive to give you as much information as possible and help guide you along the process to make it as easy and stress-free as possible for you. After all, remodeling the roof on your home should be an enjoyable process!
Once you decide to move forward with Sunshine Contracting for your roof replacement, your Project Manager will give you a call and introduce themselves to you, as well as let you know of the next steps. Your roofing material will be ordered first and once the material has arrived, we will call you to schedule an installation date. Depending on the size of the job, roof jobs, on average, take about 1-2 days to complete. Our Roof Crews
Our roof crews are trained and certified and take pride in the work they do! Feel free to ask our crew chief, Manny, any questions you may have while on the job. Manny and his crews have worked for Sunshine Contracting for over 10 years! In our opinion, they are the hardest working crews in the industry, often working from sunrise to sunset during the summer hours. Being part of the Sunshine Contracting roof crew means that our guys do everything in their power to do exceptional work, worthy of being on their very own homes.
