What types of doors are available?

There are generally two basic types of doors: interior doors and exterior doors. Interior doors are those that provide entrance and exits to various rooms in a house: bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, basements, etc. Exterior doors are those that permit entrance and exit from a house, as well as protection from the elements and security. These exterior door types include front (entry) doors, patio doors and storm doors. Because they serve different functions, the construction and material used for exterior and interior doors is going to be considerably different from one another and require different considerations when purchasing.
